Q. What is excessive sweating?
A. Sweating is a normal body function that helps maintain a body temperature of around 98° Fahrenheit through evaporation. Excessive sweating occurs when the amount of sweat largely exceeds the quantity required for thermoregulation. Common areas affected are underarms, face, hands and feet.
Q. How is Hydrosal® Professional different from any regular antiperspirant?
A. Hydrosal Professional is a specially formulated gel developed to treat individuals with excessive sweating. Its unique formula contains ingredients not found in regular antiperspirants which enhances efficacy while maintaining a high level of tolerability.
Q. Can I use Hydrosal Professional even if I don't experience excessive sweating?
A. Yes, you can. Hydrosal Professional can be used for situational sweating. It can provide extra protection for those moments in life where your perspiration level could increase... such as hot weather, exams, presentations, first date, etc.
Q. How do I use Hydrosal Professional?
A. Dr. Antranik Benohanian* recommends to wash and dry the area to be treated. A hair dryer set on "cool" could be used if necessary. Apply a small quantity for seven consecutive nights at bedtime, then continue as needed.
-
For sensitive skin, two to three treatments per week at bedtime are initially recommended.
-
For minor irritations, a hydrocortisone cream could be applied an hour before the application of the gel and 15 minutes later if needed. If irritation still persists, stop the medication and contact your doctor. In most cases, treatment could resume by lowering the frequency of application or the concentration of aluminum chloride.
-
Hydrosal Professional should not be applied to irritated, freshly shaved, or broken skin.
* Dr. Benohanian is a Dermatologist at the Montreal University Hospital Center (Saint Luc Hospital) and was involved in developing the formulation.
Q. What quantity should be applied?
A. Hydrosal Professional should be applied sparingly. As an example, a pea-sized drop spread evenly should be enough per underarm.
Q. Will it burn when applied?
A. Hydrosal Professional has a low risk of causing irritation to the skin. Do not apply Hydrosal Professional to broken, irritated or recently shaved areas.
Q. Why should Hydrosal Professional be applied at bedtime?
A. The sweating mechanism slows down at bedtime allowing the product to better penetrate and reducing risk of irritation.
Q. Will Hydrosal Professional still be effective if I wash my underarm in the morning?
A. You do not need to wash Hydrosal Professional off in the morning but if you shower or bathe, the efficacy will remain throughout the day.
Q. Will I still need to use my regular antiperspirant/deodorant while using Hydrosal Professional?
A. In most cases, Hydrosal Professional will be all you need to control sweating and odors.
Q. How long will a bottle of Hydrosal Professional last?
A. Hydrosal Professional comes in a convenient 1.7 FL.OZ (50mL) size that lasts at least 6 months when applied sparingly 3 times a week.
Q. Where can I find more information about excessive sweating?
